How to Gain Respect at a New Job | Champion Personnel

Champion Personnel Systems has over 55 years of experience in the talent acquisition industry, with five offices in northeast Ohio. We have placed over a million people with over twenty thousand companies. So, needless to say, we have been around the block a few times and have seen what it takes to make a new hire successful.

What is Respect?

Respect is displaying and reciprocating value between you and your colleagues. Respect is not a given, just because someone is higher up than you, does not automatically grant them your respect. It has to be earned.

How to Earn Respect?

Show up early every day. Stay a little later than what is expected of you and look for an opportunity to learn a little more about the company you are with. Learn new skills. These are the fundamentals to gain the respect of your co-workers and your managers or bosses.

Then as you progress into the company and in your job, you keep getting outstanding results, and you become a go-to person when you become respected. You are of value. So, to get there, you show your value, and then respect comes with it.
